This Week:

• No after school practice until further notice

• Thursday, 3/19 & Friday, 3/20 - District honor band; lunch is provided on 3/19, but not on 3/20, please plan accordingly. Full schedule here.

Looking Forward:

• 4/1 - Drum Major tryouts and leadership form should be turned in by this day. Your fees for last year must be paid as well as the first fee for this year. 

  • • Check your band account for balances owed: Pay On Cut Time Now 

• 4/2 at 7pm - Candlelight Chamber Concert in the band room. Most symphonic students are involved in this, however the program and musicians will be set by the end of March.

• 4/20-4/24 - Color guard tryouts 5:30-7 ($20 tryout fee)

• 4/27, 5/4, & 5/11 - Rookie Camp - winds and guard 3:30-5:30

• 4/30 - Band banquet & Spring concert

  • • 5 pm - Dinner and awards

    • 6:30 pm - Concert

• 5/1, 5/8, 5/15 - Percussion practice 3:30-5:30 

• 5/4 - Band parent meeting 5:00-6:00

• 5/18 - DHS Graduation

  • • Symphonic and selected band members call time 5pm at USA Mitchell Center

    • Mr. Messer will notify those chosen to participate in this event closer to the event date.

  • • 6/9 - 9am-12pm Woodwinds

    • 6/10 - 9am-12pm Brass

    • 6/11 - 9am-12pm Percussion

Student Weekly Reminders:

• Practice minutes due for the contest band at the end of every month.  Minutes Submission Form 

  1. 1. 200 minutes for section members

     2. 400 minutes for section leaders

     3. Next due date March 31st. 

Parent Reminders:

• Mr. Messer's "room" is on the MCPSS app. Please download the app on your device. If anyone cannot join the class they are supposed to be in, parent or student, email Mr. Messer and let him know. There are rooms for each period of band, color guard, and percussion.
