• HypeRaise kicked off Friday, August 28!

• Our goal is $15,000 to help purchase new wind suits for the band.

• Keep sharing your fundraiser!

Monday, August 31

• Practice 3:30–5:30 PM.

• August practice minutes are due.

• Contest Band: 200 minutes OR one private lesson

• Leadership: 400 minutes OR one private lesson

Tuesday, September 1

• Davidson Band practice 3:30–5:30 PM.

• 8th/9th Grade Practice: 3:30–5:00 PM, or as soon as students can get here, on the Davidson band field.

• 8th/9th-grade students should bring their instrument and any paperwork to practice.

• 8th/9th Grade Parent Meeting: There will be a short meeting at 4:30 PM to answer any questions.

• Letterman Jackets: A representative will be at Davidson beginning at 3:30 PM for students interested in purchasing a letterman jacket. Students can try on a jacket and discuss purchasing options. Flyers will be available.

Friday, September 4 | 8th/9th Grade Night / Davidson vs. Baker | HOME

• We will wear uniforms with our NEW Dri-FIT tops.

• Band Shoes: If your shoes have been paid for, they will be labeled and placed in the band room for students to pick up.

• WRITE YOUR NAME INSIDE YOUR SHOES!

• We have an early call time because we will feed our 8th-grade guests first and then feed the entire band.

• Our 8th-grade students will join the Davidson Band on the field for pregame!

Approximate Game-Day Schedule

• 4:30 PM: 8th/9th-grade students check in at the cafeteria.

• 5:00 PM: Pizza, sodas, and time to socialize with DHS Band Section Leaders.

• 5:30 PM: Get instruments out and look over music. DHS students will help our 8th/9th-grade guests.

• 6:35 PM: Walk onto the field and play stand tunes together.

• 6:50 PM: National Anthem, Davidson students only.

• 6:55 PM: Fight Song as the Davidson football team takes the field.

• 7:00 PM: Kickoff and first quarter begins.

• Approximately 7:45 PM: Davidson Band leaves the stands near the end of the first half.

Week of September 7–11

Monday, September 7

• NO SCHOOL, Labor Day.

• No Monday practice.

Tuesday, September 8

• Practice 3:30–5:30 PM.

Thursday, September 10

• Practice 3:30–5:30 PM.

• Because we are out of school Monday, we WILL rehearse Thursday this week.

• Dr. Beattie will be out for military training.

General Announcements

• HypeRaise: Keep sharing! Our $15,000 goal will help purchase new wind suits for the band.

• YayBand Contest: Saturday, September 26. This is one of our biggest events of the year, and we will need lots of parent volunteers.

• Parent Volunteer Meeting: Tuesday, September 22, 5:15–6:00 PM in the band room.

• More parent volunteers are needed to make this event successful.  Sign up to volunteer for YayBand Contest here. Thank you to those that have already signed up!

• Volunteer signup links for the upcoming football season and for YayBand Contest are active under the Volunteer tab. 

• Los Angeles Trip: March 30–April 2, 2027. We still need approximately 10 more travelers. Family and friends are welcome to participate.

• Practice Minutes: Contest Band and Leadership students must submit practice minutes/private lessons by the last day of each month.

• Parent volunteers still needed for this Friday to help move pit equipment and the podium! If you are chaperoning on the bus and do not mind helping with equipment, please also sign up if possible.  Sign up link here.
